Venezuela Earthquake Emergency Relief Fund

On June 24, 2026, a devastating double earthquake struck northern Venezuela. Families have lost everything. We are on the ground providing emergency relief. Your donation goes directly to those living in the affected areas.

A devastating double earthquake (magnitudes 7.2 and 7.5) has struck northern Venezuela, causing widespread destruction across Caracas, La Guaira, and surrounding states. Homes have collapsed, critical infrastructure has been damaged, and thousands of families have been displaced. All donations will go directly to our network of local partners on the ground in Venezuela, who are working to assess the most urgent needs and provide emergency support to affected communities — including but not limited to medicines, food, water, and shelter.

Challenge

The scale of destruction is the greatest challenge. La Guaira has been catastrophically damaged, and Caracas continues to deteriorate — with looting, businesses closing due to insecurity, widespread power outages, and hospitals overwhelmed with injured patients but critically lacking supplies. Reaching affected communities quickly and safely is not easy under these conditions.

Our challenge is immediacy. Through the strategic partnerships we have already established with trusted organizations on the ground in Venezuela, we are positioned to mobilize resources directly and efficiently, ensuring that every dollar reaches the families in the affected areas.

Strategy

Our team is on the ground in Venezuela assessing the immediate needs of affected communities in real time. Currently, our priority areas are food, clean water, and medical supplies. Donations go directly to our team inside Venezuela, who coordinates with local organizations already doing the work, including students at Universidad Central de Venezuela conducting rescues, and hospitals and clinics in urgent need of medical supplies. These organizations tell us what they need, our team procures it, and it gets distributed directly to the people who need it.

AID FOR LIFE and AID FOR AIDS are two sister nonprofits based in New York, serving the Venezuelan community for nearly 30 years.

1996 – early 2000s: Through our medicine recycling program, AFA sent and distributed life-saving donated HIV medications to Venezuela, while also welcoming Venezuelan immigrants arriving in New York for treatment, connecting them with legal and health services.

2017: At the peak of the complex humanitarian crisis in Venezuela, we identified widespread malnutrition and delivered infant formula to more than 4,000 babies across 21 states — for a full year. Simultaneously, together with American pharmaceuticals and private business inside the country, we delivered HIV treatment to more than 45,000 people living with HIV, half the country’s positive population (UNAIDS).

2019 – Today: AID FOR LIFE was founded to walk alongside Venezuelan migrants across the entire route — we positioned ourselves from Cúcuta to the Darién Gap to New York — reaching hundreds of thousands of people. Today, we work daily with the Venezuelan community in the Lower East Side, supporting each person toward financial independence.

We have the alliances. We have the routes. We know exactly where to go, how to move quickly, and how to make every donation count. Donate now.
